The curriculum will be presented in a way as to take you from a beginning or basic knowledge, to advanced treatment planning, treatments, and research.

An overview of the curriculum and how it will be presented:

You will begin by learning the theories of how energy or Qi is created and moves through the body. Qi can be any form of energy such as food or air. Theories of how qi are created in the body and how it moves through the body will enable you to guide your patients in relieving deficiencies or stagnation. The practice of Qi Gong, Massage, Needling Techniques, and Pulse taking are excellent ways to physically feel and manipulate Qi, and these will begin in your first trimester and will be practiced throughout your training. After beginning to understand Qi creation, physically feeling and moving Qi you will begin studying diagnostic techniques or ways of looking at the person. Some of these include pattern differentiation, tongue diagnosis, nutritional evaluation, five element diagnosis, and substance evaluation.

In the second year, you will layer in the study of herbs and how they affect the creation and movement of Qi. Then the understanding and practice of all of these combined will prepare you for diagnosing and treating patients in our student clinic. We will encourage you to finish your clinicals as you finish your classes, practically applying what you learn in class each week in the student clinic treating patients.
